Ga. Judge Won't Revive Class Suit Against Travel Websites
A Georgia federal judge on Wednesday rejected a group of 259 cities' request to reconsider a July order directing Expedia Inc. and other online travel companies to remit only certain taxes associated with room rentals in a class action accusing the companies of local tax evasion.

A Georgia federal judge on Monday directed a group of online travel companies including Expedia Inc. to remit taxes to 259 cities based on the retail price of rooms booked since May 16, 2011, dismissing all other claims in a class action alleging local tax evasion.
