Noble Drilling Services Inc. settled on Thursday a $50 million wire defect suit alleging wire ropes made by Bridon-American Corp. and distributed by Certex USA Inc. snapped and damaged the company's oil rigs.

A Texas federal judge on Wednesday ordered a third-party contractor to turn over documents in Noble Drilling Services Inc.'s $50 million suit against Bridon-American Corp. and Certex USA Inc. over wire ropes that allegedly snapped and damaged oil rigs.
