A federal judge on Friday said GlaxoSmithKline LLC, Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. and several other companies don't have to contribute to a cleanup effort at a polluted Ohio landfill because the companies seeking payment are limited to a statutory claim that is time-barred.

A federal judge narrowed an environmental waste cleanup suit against Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC and others Thursday, citing case law barring plaintiffs from claiming unjust enrichment on obligatory remedial costs.
