Online Ticketing Patent Obvious, Fed. Circ. Finds
The Federal Circuit on Friday affirmed a trial court's judgment against online ticket company CEATS Inc., which sued a spate of airlines and entertainment companies including Ticketmaster LLC for allegedly infringing a patent for selling seats online, ruling that a jury correctly determined the patent was obvious.

A Texas federal jury has found that Live Nation Entertainment Inc., United Air Lines Inc. and a slew of other ticket vendors and airlines didn't infringe a patent-holding company's technology for selling plane tickets online because the patents are invalid, attorneys said Thursday.
