A California federal judge Thursday signed off on a settlement valued at $100 million between Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America and a class accusing the insurer of falsely marketing so-called bonus deferred annuities policies to senior citizens.

Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America has lost a bid to decertify a punitive damages claim against it, but the insurer prevailed in its struggle to keep eight of its current and former employees off the stand in an upcoming fraud trial.
