Aventis Pharma SA and Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC decided Friday to stop fighting a judgment in favor of Sandoz Inc. in its patent suit over Sandoz's generic version of cancer treatment Taxotere.

A judge in Australia has ruled that two generic-drug makers can sell a copy of blockbuster cancer-fighting drug Taxotere when a patent for it expires, denying a bid by Sanofi-Aventis SA to block the generic version.
