A federal judge has refused to dismiss the latest complaint in a proposed class action accusing Sony Electronics Inc. of falsely inflating the high-definition capabilities of a digital television model at the expense of consumers.

In a proposed class action accusing Sony Electronics Inc. of falsely inflating the high-definition capabilities of an expensive television, a federal judge has rejected a settlement after finding that the agreement would not adequately compensate at least half of the consumers who purchased the set.
