A Florida federal judge on Monday dismissed a qui tam case accusing WellCare Health Plans Inc. of defrauding the federal government, approving the $137.5 million settlement that had been held up by the whistleblower who launched the suit.

A whistleblower who has been holding up a $137.5 million payment from WellCare Health Plans Inc. to the U.S. government for fraud he helped to expose rescinded his objection to the settlement in Florida federal court Thursday, paving the way for its final approval.
