Comcast Corp. on Friday reached a $6 million settlement in a class action brought by its Illinois customer account representatives who claimed they weren't paid for work performed between their arrival at the office and their first phone call of the day.

Customer account representatives at Comcast Corp.'s call centers in Illinois have won class certification in their state law claims alleging that the employees do uncompensated work after they log into their computers but before they handle their first phone call.
