A federal judge has dismissed a False Claims Act suit brought against Lockheed Martin Corp. by a former employee, saying there's no evidence Lockheed intentionally lowballed costs in its hardware and software contract for new U.S. Air Force launching systems.

A federal judge has allowed the U.S. to file an amicus brief in a False Claims Act suit brought by a former project engineer that accuses Lockheed Martin Corp. of secretly mixing low-security freeware into software it designed to run U.S. Air Force satellite and missile launches and lowballing its contract bid by at least $500 million.
