A New Jersey federal court on Friday approved a settlement valued at $69 million in a class action over sunroof drainage problems on several Volkswagen and Audi models, including $9.8 million in attorneys' fees and costs despite the case having been remanded from the Third Circuit for adequacy issues with the representative plaintiffs.

Volkswagen of America Inc. on Wednesday settled for $8 million two consolidated class actions over allegedly defective sunroof drains that drivers say caused damage to their cars, five years after the suits were launched.
