A Pennsylvania federal judge on Wednesday said class members in an Aviva USA multidistrict litigation over fraudulently marketed annuities who joined a settlement worth up to $530 million can't receive restitution from a lawsuit filed by Pennsylvania's attorney general because they've released their claims.

Class members on the receiving end of a settlement worth up to $530 million as part of multidistrict litigation over fraudulently marketed annuities should be barred from getting restitution through a lawsuit being pursued by Pennsylvania's attorney general, an Aviva PLC attorney told a federal judge Thursday.
