A Michigan federal judge on Wednesday shut down a Reckitt Benckiser Inc. unit's suit accusing Perrigo Co. of patent infringement in its attempts to market a generic version of the company's Mucinex respiratory relief drug.

A federal judge has handed Perrigo Co. victory in a suit brought by a Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC subsidiary, ruling that the generic-drug manufacturer did not infringe a patent for the expectorant Mucinex through its attempt to introduce its own version of the drug.
