An Oregon federal judge on Friday ordered RLI Insurance Co. to reimburse Ace Fire Underwriters Insurance Co., Ace Property and Casualty Insurance Co. and Employers Insurance Co. of Wausau more than $2.9 million in defense costs for litigation over a Superfund site in Portland.

An Oregon federal court has rejected a magistrate judge’s recommendation to dismiss Northwest Pipe Co.’s claims alleging RLI Insurance Co. has a duty to defend it in litigation over a Superfund site in Portland, but agreed to toss all allegations against Employers Insurance of Wausau.
