Ex-Nutmeg Group Owner Seeks To Bar Testimony In SEC Trial
The owner of defunct investment advisement firm The Nutmeg Group LLC and his son asked an Illinois federal court Wednesday to bar the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from presenting evidence on damages in a suit claiming they had improperly transferred funds and failed to disclose it to investors, saying the commission was attempting to sneak in unqualified experts.

SEC Notches Partial Victory Against Defunct Nutmeg Group
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission earned a partial victory Thursday in its lawsuit against defunct investment advisement firm The Nutmeg Group LLC, with an Illinois federal judge ruling that the firm hid certain asset transfers from investors while keeping the fight against the firm's founder and his son alive.
