Judge 'Having Trouble' To Rule On Papst Camera Patent MDL
Nikon Corp., Canon Inc. and other digital camera manufacturers in a long-running multidistrict patent infringement suit appeared to have hit a stumbling block Wednesday after a D.C. federal judge cast strong doubts on their request for an order finding that the Patent Trial and Appeal Board had previously invalidated similar claims asserted in the case.

A Washington federal judge on Tuesday threw out patent infringement claims in a multidistrict litigation against Canon Inc., Eastman Kodak Co. and other camera companies, ruling that camera memory cards are stand-alone technology separate from Papst Licensing GmbH & Co. KG's patented "interface devices" technology.

Samsung Shakes Claims In Papst Camera Patent MDL
A Washington federal judge nixed claims Tuesday in multidistrict litigation over 47 Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. products that allegedly infringe two Papst Licensing Gmbh & Co. KG's patents covering digital camera interfaces, after Papst, which only sued Samsung's digital camera unit, was barred from adding Samsung to the case.
