A Texas federal judge on Thursday closed the book on more than 30 lawsuits brought by patent-holding company SFA Systems LLC accusing a slew of retailers including Barnes & Noble Inc. and 1-800-Flowers.com Inc. of flouting two patents covering online sales automation technology.

Newegg Loses $1.2M Fee-Shifting Bid In Sales Patent Suit
A Texas federal judge on Tuesday blocked a request from Newegg Inc. to recover more than $1.2 million in attorneys' fees after patent-holding company SFA Systems LLC dropped an infringement suit over patents relating to sales automation technology, saying it didn't qualify as an exceptional case.
