OPTi Awarded $3M In Damages Over 'Presnoop' Patent
A Texas federal judge on Monday entered final judgment against VIA Technologies Inc. in a patent infringement suit brought by OPTi Inc. claiming infringement of its "presnoop patents" through sales of logic chipsets, motherboards and other technology, awarding total damages of more than $3 million.

A Texas federal jury on Friday handed a $2.1 million verdict to OPTi Inc. in a suit brought against Via Technologies Inc. for infringing patents related to predictive snooping technology, ruling that Via Technologies infringed one of the patents.
