A California federal judge on Wednesday awarded Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. $200,000 in attorneys' fees against a pro se plaintiff that alleged the production company lifted ideas from her memoir for the Chris Rock movie "Death at a Funeral."

A California federal judge ruled Thursday that the film "Death at a Funeral" was not based on a Los Angeles woman's memoir, releasing star Chris Rock, producer Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. and others from a $20 million copyright infringement suit.
