Darnell & Meyering PC, an auditor involved in a troubled $7 million bond issue for a Michigan charter school, on Friday settled Michigan federal court claims by a group of investment funds that the auditor had signed off on false financial statements related to the issue.

Herbert J. Sims & Co. Inc., an underwriter for a failed $7 million bond issue for Michigan charter school Crescent Academy, settled all claims Wednesday accusing it of failing to conduct proper due diligence in the bond's sale.

A group of Wells Fargo funds and others have filed a lawsuit alleging that a Michigan charter school management firm, law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP and other professionals made numerous misrepresentations in issuing about $7 million in municipal revenue bonds for the purchase of a school building.
