A Florida federal court entered a final judgment Monday in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s case against investment adviser Founding Partners Capital Management Co. alleging investors were bilked out of $500 million through risky investments involving Sun Capital Inc.-affiliated hospitals, following the court’s approval of a settlement last month.

The head of Founding Partners Capital Management Co. on Thursday urged a Florida federal judge to strike an allegedly illegitimate order requiring the investment adviser to fork over $32 million after settling claims that he perpetrated a $550 million fraud.
