A Pennsylvania federal judge on Thursday denied Wyeth LLC's attempt to toss two remaining suits in multidistrict litigation alleging its fen-phen diet drugs caused fatal lung disease, saying a nationwide settlement reached more than a decade ago does not bar the complaints from going to trial.

Plaintiffs in 11 product liability suits originating in the Southern District of Florida have settled with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc., formerly the maker of the diet drug cocktail known as fen-phen, over alleged health problems associated with the drugs.
