A class of intellectually disabled individuals confined in Pennsylvania state facilities said Wednesday it has agreed to settle with the state’s Department of Public Welfare in a suit accusing the department of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by failing to provide integrated community-based services.

Plaintiffs have earned class certification in an action against Pennsylvania's Department of Public Welfare in which they accuse the agency of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by failing to provide integrated community-based services for individuals with mental retardation who are confined in state facilities.
