    Dura Automotive Settles EEOC Drug-Screening Suit

    Dura Automotive Systems Inc. will shell out $750,000 as part of a settlement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission over allegations that it conducted illegal drug screening tests at one of its Tennessee plants, the company said Friday.

    Dura Automotive Systems Inc. has been hit with a putative class action accusing the auto parts maker of testing all the workers in a Tennessee manufacturing facility for certain legally prescribed drugs, prohibiting the use of those medications and firing employees unable to perform their job duties without them.
