Syringe maker Becton Dickinson and Co. was unable to duck antitrust and false advertising claims brought by rival Retractable Technologies Inc., as a Texas federal judge ruled Monday that sufficient proof existed to send the case to trial next month.

Becton Fights Antitrust Claims By Rival Syringe Maker
Syringe maker Becton Dickinson and Co. has asked a judge to toss antitrust claims from a suit brought against it by competitor Retractable Technologies Inc., saying Retractable released Becton from future antitrust claims in a 2004 settlement of a patent infringement spat between the two companies.
