Whirlpool, LG Close Out Refrigerator Patent Dispute
Whirlpool Corp. and LG Electronics Inc. have put to rest a series of long-running disputes over refrigerator patents, with the parties having agreed to settle three separate infringement cases in Delaware and New Jersey federal courts, the companies said on Friday.

CORRECTED: Whirlpool Can't Claim Literal Infringement In LG Feud
A Delaware federal judge on Thursday ruled that LG Electronics USA Inc. did not infringe a refrigerator patent held by Whirlpool Corp., saying the design of a new LG refrigerator had not changed and therefore the noninfringement ruling in a related suit would stand. (A previous version of this article incorrectly indicated that Judge Sleet had entered a new judgment of noninfringement for LG.)
