Warner Chilcott PLC and Mayne Pharma International Pty. Ltd. have agreed to pay $12 million to Mylan Inc. and Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. to resolve Mylan's damages claim following patent litigation over Warner's acne drug Doryx, according to a regulatory notice filed Wednesday.

A New Jersey federal judge on Monday held that two generic anti-acne drugs made by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Impax Laboratories Inc. do not infringe a patent for Warner Chilcott Co. LLC's brand-name drug Doryx, but refused to find a Doryx patent invalid.

Warner Chilcott Ltd. and Mayne Pharma International Pty. Ltd. have filed a patent infringement lawsuit seeking to prevent Sandoz Inc. from marketing a generic version of the antibiotic Doryx less than a month after targeting three other drugmakers in a similar suit.
