Gilead Sciences Inc. and Roche Palo Alto LLC have abandoned a patent infringement suit trying to block Lupin Ltd. from offering a copycat version of chronic chest pain treatment Ranexa, telling a New Jersey federal judge Friday that they'd resolved their dispute.

A New Jersey federal judge on Thursday refused generic-drug maker Lupin Ltd.'s request to boot a patent infringement suit brought by Gilead Sciences Inc. over its chest pain drug Ranexa, rejecting Lupin's contention that the claims raised were invalid.
