A Connecticut federal judge on Friday slashed by $6.8 million a jury award against accessories manufacturer Fossil Inc. stemming from a finding that it infringed a magnetic snap closure company's patent and trademark rights, saying the plaintiff isn't entitled to an award of Fossil's profits because the jury didn't find willful infringement.
