Settlement Can't Nix Sanctions In Univ. Of Phoenix Patent Suit
A Virginia federal court ruled last week that Digital-Vending Services International LLC will still face sanctions imposed during its patent suit against the University of Phoenix even after it settled the case, saying the court wouldn't "hide" Digital-Vending's discovery abuse.

IP Claim Against University of Phoenix Tossed Again
A Virginia federal court Friday again dismissed Digital-Vending Services International LLC's patent infringement claim against the University of Phoenix over technology for regulating access to computer network-delivered content, finding the for-profit school's online network can't infringe Digital-Vending's patent under the court's claim construction.
