A magistrate judge has lifted a long-running stay in EchoStar Technologies Corp.'s patent infringement suit against TiVo Inc. and Humax USA Inc. over digital video recorder technology as the plaintiff agreed to narrow its case.

Satellite television provider EchoStar Communications has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against digital video recorder company TiVo and South Korean electronics maker Humax over DVR technology.
