A Missouri federal judge threw out a collective action Monday that claimed police officers on a Kansas City SWAT team weren't paid proper overtime wages, ruling that the plaintiffs didn't sufficiently show the amount and extent of their alleged overtime work.

A federal judge in Missouri granted a group of police officers' bid for conditional collective action certification on Thursday in a Fair Labor Standards Act case alleging that members of a tactical response unit of Kansas City's SWAT team were given short shrift on overtime pay.
