A California federal judge on Tuesday agreed to nix a class action against Qualcomm Inc. and Atheros Communications Inc., ruling that investors hadn't proved there was any real loss from information not disclosed to shareholders when the telecommunications companies merged in 2011.

An Atheros Communications Inc. investor lost his bid Friday to enjoin a shareholder vote on a potential merger with Qualcomm Inc. in his California class action alleging the $3.2 billion deal was coercive and would violate Atheros shareholders' rights.
