A California federal judge on Wednesday allowed American Safety Insurance Co. to exit a suit by McMillin Construction Services LP over allegedly faulty home construction work performed by subcontractors and suppliers, saying McMillin was not a party to a policy by the insurer.

A California federal judge on Tuesday released a number of insurers who had settled a suit by McMillin Construction Services LP seeking coverage for allegedly faulty construction work and on Monday cut claims against another insurer that said McMillin hadn't paid its self-insured retention yet.
