Toyota Motor Corp. has toppled a putative class action alleging that certain Prius hybrid cars have defective anti-lock braking systems, scoring summary judgment after a California federal judge found the plaintiff failed to present evidence of the defect or any resulting injury, according to court documents made available Thursday.

A California federal judge on Friday backed an order requiring Toyota Motor Corp. to bear the costs of implementing security measures to protect its production of source code information in multidistrict litigation over defective braking systems in certain Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicles.
