Fed. Circ. Upholds Smith & Nephew's $95M Suture Patent Win
The Federal Circuit on Wednesday affirmed a lower court's ruling that Arthrex Inc. must pay rival Smith & Nephew Inc. $95 million for infringing a patent for surgical suture methods, rejecting Arthrex's argument that it should get a new chance to show the patent is invalid.

Smith & Nephew Wins $85M IP Verdict Against Arthrex
Smith & Nephew Inc. said Thursday that a federal jury in Oregon awarded it $85 million in its lawsuit against rival medical device maker Arthrex Inc. over a patent covering suture anchors used to reattach damaged tissue and bone, but Arthrex vowed to appeal.
