The federal government on Tuesday accused Johnson & Johnson of "hiding the ball" with respect to its defense strategy in two Omnicare Inc. employees' False Claims Act case over an alleged kickbacks scheme, urging a judge to compel testimony by J&J's chief executive.

Johnson & Johnson on Wednesday demanded to see documents on other pharmaceutical makers' marketing practices that are allegedly relevant to two whistleblower actions brought by Omnicare Inc. employees claiming J&J paid tens of millions of dollars in kickbacks to Omnicare that resulted in false Medicaid claims.
