Ex-NY Pol Jailed For Bribery Admits To Tax Fraud
Zehy Jereis, the influential former chairman of the Yonkers Republican Committee, pled guilty to tax fraud in New York federal court Monday, the same day he surrendered to begin serving a four-year sentence on bribery charges tied to local real estate projects.

A former top Yonkers, N.Y., Democrat was sentenced to six years in prison for taking bribes to approve two housing and mixed-used projects, while a Republican who funneled the money to her received a three-year prison sentence.
