A former Deloitte Tax LLP partner's wife who admitted to lying to federal investigators during a probe into leaked confidential information about upcoming mergers was sentenced Tuesday in California federal court to 11 months in prison, U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag announced.

Six months after pleading guilty to related criminal charges, the wife of a former Deloitte Tax LLP partner reached a $1 million settlement with the government Monday in a lawsuit alleging she and her husband shared confidential information about upcoming mergers with relatives.
