Calif. False Claims Suit Against Kmart May Head East
A Los Angeles federal judge on Monday suggested he will transfer to Illinois a False Claims Act suit alleging Kmart Corp. systematically overcharged federal and state governments for prescription drugs, saying the qui tam case has little connection with Southern California.

Kmart Corp. on Friday tried to inoculate itself against a pharmacist's False Claims Act lawsuit over allegedly excessive charges to Medicare and Medicaid, saying its drug sales are walled off from the programs by several middlemen, immunizing it to allegations of defrauding Uncle Sam.
