Travelers Fights Gateway D&O Coverage In 9th Circ.
Travelers Indemnity Co. on Friday asked the Ninth Circuit to overturn a ruling that it was obligated to pay attorneys' fees incurred on behalf of Gateway Inc. employees in a securities suit against the computer company, even though they were not directors or officers.

Gateway Inc. on Monday won its bid in California for coverage from Travelers Indemnity Co. for attorneys' fees incurred on behalf of Gateway employees in a securities suit against the company, even though the employees were not explicitly included in a directors and officers policy.

Gateway Seeks Quick Win In D&O Row Over SEC Defense
Gateway Inc. moved for summary judgment Tuesday in its California federal court suit against Travelers Indemnity Co., saying the insurer improperly denied excess coverage for the defense of Gateway's executives during an investigation and lawsuit by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
