A California federal judge on Friday signed off on a settlement wrapping up the remains of a former Lockheed Martin Corp. security worker's proposed class action accusing the defense contractor of misclassifying him and others as exempt and failing to pay overtime wages.

A California federal judge shot down a motion for class certification Monday in an overtime suit against Lockheed Martin Corp., saying that the proposed class of industrial security representatives was too diverse in their actual duties to be certified.
