The U.S. government on Monday settled its suit in Massachusetts federal court accusing chrome replater NuChrome Inc. of repeatedly violating waste management laws by generating and improperly storing hazardous waste products including chromium, nickel and copper sludges, and cyanide process wastewaters.

The U.S. filed a contempt motion Wednesday against chrome replater NuChrome Inc. for allegedly breaching a 2009 preliminary injunction order requiring it to follow federal and state hazardous waste regulations at a Massachusetts facility and meet certain reporting requirements.
