A New York federal judge on Tuesday confirmed a 2009 arbitration award now worth nearly $400 million for KBR Inc. in a contract dispute with Petroleos Mexicanos, Mexico's national oil company, saying that a Mexican appeals court violated basic notions of justice when it threw out the award.

A New York federal judge on Thursday said he likely will ignore an order from an allegedly biased Mexican court giving state oil company Petroleos Mexicanos a $355 million contract suit win over KBR Inc. unless KBR can get a new hearing.
