Attorneys from Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP and Stevens Love Hill & Holt PLLC were awarded $435,000 in fees Thursday after winning $19.8 million for client Peak Energy Corp. in a breach of contract suit, a 90 percent reduction from what the lawyers requested.

A Texas federal judge on Friday awarded Peak Energy Corp. $19.8 million in its suit alleging that a Chesapeake Energy Corp. subsidiary violated a contract when it abandoned an deal to acquire oil and gas leases as the natural gas market plummeted in 2008.
