Facebook Inc. and MaxBounty Inc. on Monday resolved a suit in California federal court alleging the marketing company hijacked the social networking giant's trademark to trick consumers into visiting advertising sites and allowing spam to be sent to their Facebook friends.

A California federal judge on Wednesday refused to toss Facebook Inc.'s suit against online advertiser MaxBounty Inc. over an allegedly misleading marketing scheme the social media giant says violated its policies and federal law.
