A California federal judge Thursday ruled that Samsung Electronics Co., Kyocera Communications Inc. and others did not infringe one of Nazomi Communications Inc.'s Java programming patents, saying Nazomi did not sufficiently show that the allegedly infringing system used in Samsung's cellphones operates in a similar manner to its patented system.

Software programming company Nazomi Communications Inc. on Tuesday added Amazon.com Inc. and Vizio Inc. to its patent suit accusing LG Electronics Inc. and several other electronics companies of selling portable devices that infringe Nazomi's Java programming patents.
