A Washington federal judge on Wednesday threw out discrimination claims brought against two farms in Washington's Yakima Valley by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, leaving farm labor contractor Global Horizons Inc. as the sole defendant in a human-trafficking case over the treatment of Thai workers.

A Washington federal judge Wednesday ordered the U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Commission to specify which Thai workers it was representing in a human-trafficking case against two farms in Washington's Yakima Valley, granting the growers' motion to limit the claims.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed suits this week against farm labor contractor Global Horizons Inc. and marine services company Signal International LLC for allegedly discriminating against and harassing Thai and Indian workers placed on farms in Hawaii, Mississippi and Washington state.
