A New York federal judge ruled Friday that the bulk of Leveraged Innovations LLC's infringement claims against ProShares Advisors LLC over a patent for computer systems focused on exchange-traded funds were precluded by a 2003 settlement.

Leveraged Innovations LLC filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. and a unit of ProFunds Group in New York federal court, claiming they infringed patents for computer systems designed to create and exchange shares in leveraged exchange-traded funds.
