A Delaware federal judge on Thursday threw out Apeldyn Corp.'s lawsuit claiming that Sony Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. infringed its patent over LCD technology, saying that the patent was invalid and that a 2013 Federal Circuit decision against Apeldyn barred the claims.

A Delaware federal judge on Wednesday denied Sony Corp.'s attempt to dismiss a patent suit over liquid crystal display screens brought by Apeldyn Corp., ruling that Apeldyn had done enough to justify its accusations of indirect and willful infringement against Sony.
